ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has dispatched the 21st consignment of relief goods through a special flight for the war-hit people of Gaza.

As per the directives of the Prime Minister, a flight carrying the relief items departed from Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore, on Monday.

According to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), the relief consignment comprises one hundred tonnes of rations, baggage, cooked meals, and fruit tin packs.

Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, along with representatives from the federal and provincial governments and officials from the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), attended a ceremony held at the airport.

Speaking at the event, the Minister praised the efforts of the NDMA and various welfare organisations for their swift action in dispatching relief goods to the people of Gaza.

He reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people during these challenging times, emphasising that the government remains fully committed to providing all possible assistance.

Israeli strike kills 15 Palestinians

An Israeli airstrike hit the fourth floor of southern Gaza’s main hospital on Monday, killing at least 15 people, Gaza’s health ministry said.

The ministry said the victims on the fourth floor of Nasser Hospital were killed in a double-tap strike — one missile hitting first, then another moments later as rescue crews arrived.

The victims of the strike included four journalists, Palestinian health officials said.

According to the Gaza health ministry, the total death toll since October 2023 has reached 62,622, with 157,673 people wounded.

Malnutrition-related deaths in Gaza cross 300

Gaza’s health ministry says 11 more people, including two children, have died from malnutrition in the past 24 hours.

That brings the total number of hunger and malnutrition-related deaths in Gaza, areas of which famine has now been confirmed, to 300, including 117 children.
