ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar will depart for Saudi Arabia on Tuesday to participate in an emergency meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) foreign ministers in Jeddah on the situation in Palestine, diplomatic sources confirmed.
The executive committee meeting at the foreign ministers’ level is scheduled for February 26 at the OIC General Secretariat.
According to officials, the gathering holds significant importance given the rapidly evolving situation in the Middle East, particularly the ongoing crisis in Palestine.
Sources indicate that the session will strongly condemn recent decisions and measures declaring lands in the occupied West Bank as Israeli property.
Muslim countries are expected to jointly denounce Israeli actions aimed at altering the legal, political, and demographic status of the occupied Palestinian territories.
During the meeting, Dar will convey Pakistan’s firm condemnation of what Islamabad terms Israel’s illegal decisions, actions, and policies.
Unified stance on Palestine
The forum will also deliberate on formulating a coordinated strategy among Muslim nations to counter Israeli measures and present a unified stance on the Palestinian cause.
