Pakistan Deputy PM Stresses Regional Peace During Meeting with US Envoy

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar has emphasised the importance of regional peace and stability during a meeting with Acting US Chargé d’Affaires Zachary Harkenrider in Islamabad.

The meeting focused on strengthening Pakistan–United States bilateral relations and reviewing recent regional developments, a Foreign Office statement said on Monday.

Both sides exchanged views on key issues of mutual interest and discussed ways to enhance cooperation in various sectors.

During the meeting, Ishaq Dar stressed the need for continued diplomatic engagement and constructive dialogue between the two countries.

He highlighted the importance of working together to promote peace, stability, and economic development in the region, while addressing shared challenges through coordinated efforts.

The deputy prime minister also reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to maintaining a positive and forward-looking relationship with the United States based on mutual respect and common interests.

Acting US Chargé d’Affaires Zachary Harkenrider reiterated Washington’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with Pakistan.

He acknowledged the significance of ongoing cooperation between the two nations and expressed the United States’ willingness to continue working closely with Pakistan on regional and global issues.

Both sides agreed on the importance of sustained engagement and dialogue to further deepen bilateral ties and support efforts aimed at promoting long-term peace and stability in the region.
