Pakistan Declares 2025 as Year of Sports Revival: PM Aide

PARIS: The Advisor to the Prime Minister on Political and Public Affairs, Rana Sanaullah on Thursday said the Government of Pakistan has declared 2025 as the year of revival of sports in Pakistan.

He also expressed Pakistan’s readiness to collaborate with Commonwealth countries to achieve shared goals of sports development and inspire future generations.

Addressing the 11th Commonwealth Sports Ministers Meeting in Paris, he said we are dedicated to promoting sports as a catalyst for social change.

He also said Pakistan is committed to the theme of “Building Inclusive and Resilient Societies through Sports.” The Minister added the government’s dedication to using sports as a driver of social progress is evident through initiatives like the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme.

Rana Sanaullah went on to say the country is advancing towards good governance. The PM aide said  Pakistan is promoting gender equality and inclusivity through different initiatives in sports.

He emphasized collaborative efforts across education, health, and youth development sectors to create a robust sports ecosystem.  He also encouraged private sector involvement and public-private partnerships to enhance sports investment.

The Ambassador of Pakistan to France and Permanent Delegate to UNESCO, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad also attended the event.
