Pakistan Day Celebrated with National Spirit in Beijing

BEIJING: Pakistan day was celebrated with national spirit and fervor in Beijing, local media reported on Saturday.

The Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing has hosted a ceremony to commemorate the 84th anniversary of Pakistan Day. The ceremony was attended by the embassy officials, their families and members of the Pakistan community in China.

The ceremony started with the recitation of verses from Holy Quran. Pakistan envoy to China, Khalil Hashmi raised Pakistan flag and hoisted it with the energizing tune of the national anthem.

On the occasion, messages from Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar were read out to the audience, which underlined the significance of Pakistan Resolution of 23rd March 1940, terming it as the turning point in the struggle for the creation of the motherland.

In his address, Pakistan’s envoy Khalil Hashmi called for celebrating Pakistan Day by making a renewed commitment toward the development, progress, and prosperity of the nation.

While highlighting the enduring pledge of China-Pakistan friendship, the envoy highlighted mutual respect, strategic trust and solidarity as fundamental aspects of bilateral ties.

He also lauded the role of Pakistan Community in China in solidifying the partnership between the two sides.
