PRAGUE: Ambassador of Pakistan to the Czech Republic Ayesha Ali has said that Pakistan’s burgeoning startup ecosystem was driving innovation and entrepreneurship, particularly in areas of e-commerce, fintech, and health technology.
During her address at a webinar titled “IT Landscape of Pakistan,” the ambassador noted Pakistan’s reputation for its dynamic IT outsourcing industry, which offers cost-effective solutions spanning software development, digital marketing, and customer support, a statement said on Friday.
The event was organized by the Embassy of Pakistan in Prague in collaboration with the Czech Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Lahore-based private software house Code District, attracted over 50 companies from both Pakistan and the Czech Republic.
Ambassador Ayesha highlighted Pakistan’s emergence as a preferred destination for IT outsourcing services, juxtaposing it with the Czech Republic’s acclaim for its advanced IT infrastructure, research and development prowess, and expertise in artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity and data analytics.
She emphasized the potential for collaboration between Pakistan and the Czech Republic across various sectors by capitalizing on their respective strengths.
CEO of Code District, Ashar Samdani, presented a comprehensive overview of the product and service offerings from Pakistani software houses, while representatives from the Czech side, including Miroslav Hazer from the Czech Confederation of Industries, Eva Rybkova from the Czech Chambers of Commerce, and Ahsan Aslam from the Czech – Pakistan Chambers of Commerce, introduced economic opportunities in the country.
The webinar aimed to spotlight Pakistan’s IT potential in the Central and Eastern European markets, with a focus on the Czech Republic, facilitating meaningful B2B interactions between interested companies. It also served to educate Pakistani companies about the scope, potential challenges, and local regulations related to doing business in the Czech Republic. —APP
