Pakistan: Multiple Casualties Feared in Cylinder Blast in Rawalpindi’s Bahria Town

ISLAMABAD: Multiple casualties are feared in a tragic gas cylinder blast in the Yumto building, situated near the Asian Wok restaurant in Bahria Town, Rawalpindi.

Shaheryar Hassan, who reported the incident on Twitter, described the blast as severe. He said that five people were killed in the blast. The owner of Yumto, the building where the blast took place, provided an explanation of the incident.

Bahria Town Blast Causes Damages

According to the owner, a retaining wall located at the backside of the neighboring restaurant, Asian Wok, collapsed and fell onto Yumto’s LPG cylinders, triggering a substantial explosion.

The explosion caused extensive damage not only to Yumto but also to Asian Wok and nearby restaurants.

The incident has sent shockwaves throughout the community, raising concerns about safety standards and the handling of hazardous materials in public areas. As of now, the Bahria Town authorities are yet to comment on the incident.
