ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on Thursday announced a reduction in the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) for August 2025, lowering the rate by PKR 17.74 per kilogram.

According to the official notification, the new price of LPG has been set at PKR 215.36 per kg, down from the previous rate by PKR 17.74. Consequently, the price of a domestic LPG cylinder (11.8 kg) has been reduced by PKR 209.24, bringing the new cost to PKR 2,541.36, compared to the earlier price of PKR 2,750.60.

This reduction reflects global trends in oil prices and is intended to provide financial relief to consumers.

Meanwhile, the federal government is also expected to lower petrol and diesel prices for the upcoming fortnight, in line with international market movements.

According to local media reports, petrol is likely to be reduced by PKR 9.07 per litre, while high-speed diesel may see a cut of PKR 3.73 per litre.

The prices of kerosene oil and light diesel may be increased. Kerosene oil price is expected to be increased by PKR 3.55 per litre, and light diesel by PKR 2.33 per litre.

The OGRA will submit its summary to the Petroleum Division, and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will give final approval for the adjustments in petroleum prices. The federal government revises fuel prices every 15 days.
