KARACHI: The Pakistan Customs authorities on Monday seized a huge quantity of smuggled betel nuts and Kattha (Catechu) during a raid in the Napier Road area of Karachi.
According to a spokesman of customs, the Anti-Smuggling Organization of Pakistan Customs raided a shop located at Napier Road and seized 5600 kg of Kattha (Catechu) and 1860 kg of smuggled betel nuts.
Value of Smuggled Items
The approximate value of the recovered items was 6.1 million rupees.
The seized items had been taken to the ASO warehouse, and a case had been lodged against the accused. Further legal proceedings were underway.
