ISLAMABAD: The Shaheens secured a commanding 74-run victory over Oman in their Group B match of the ACC Men’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup.

Choosing to bat first, the Shaheens set a competitive total of 185/5 in their 20 overs. Qasim Akram was the standout performer with a solid 48 off 38 balls, while captain Rohail Nazir contributed an explosive 41 off just 20 deliveries, and Arafat Minhas added a rapid 31 off 15.

Despite some impressive moments from Oman’s bowlers, notably Muzahir Raza’s two wickets, they struggled to contain the Pakistani middle order’s assault.

In response, Oman struggled from the start and ended their innings at 111/7. Captain Jatinder Singh was the top scorer with 24 runs, but Pakistan’s bowlers maintained tight control throughout the innings. Shahnawaz Dahani (1/13), Sufiyan Muqeem (1/15), and Zaman Khan (2/17) delivered disciplined performances that effectively stifled Oman’s chase.

Rohail Nazir’s all-round display, which included two catches alongside his impactful batting, earned him the Player of the Match award, leading Pakistan A to a comfortable win.
