RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: In a heart-warming move aimed at raising awareness for breast cancer, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has unveiled a special pink-themed kit for the upcoming T20I against South Africa on October 28.

The initiative, part of the #PINKtober campaign, seeks to highlight the importance of early detection and regular screenings for breast cancer.

For the first time in cricket history, the Pakistan men’s cricket team will set aside their iconic green jerseys to don a striking pink outfit.

The bold new look symbolizes solidarity with breast cancer awareness efforts and is designed to shine a spotlight on the critical cause.

The PCB showcased the new pink kits across its official social media platforms, with several players proudly wearing the outfit in promotional images. The board also shared a powerful message alongside the reveal: “Turning pink for a cause that matters.”

This initiative will see the Pakistan players, South African cricketers, match officials, commentators, and broadcasters all wearing pink ribbons to further demonstrate their commitment to the cause.

In addition to the kits, the match will feature pink-branded stumps, with awareness messages and visuals displayed throughout the live broadcast to engage a wider audience.

The awareness campaign has been launched in collaboration with the Pink Ribbon Breast Cancer Trust Hospital, based in Lahore. The hospital will offer free clinical examinations and screenings for visitors on the day of the match.

PCB Chief Operating Officer Sumair Ahmed Syed spoke about the significance of the campaign, emphasizing the role of cricket in promoting social awareness and change.

“The Pakistan Cricket Board takes immense pride in using the power and reach of cricket to create awareness about causes that affect our society,” Syed said.

“Through the Pink Ribbon campaign, we aim to highlight the importance of early detection and regular screening for breast cancer, which can save countless lives.”

The collaboration with the Pink Ribbon Breast Cancer Trust Hospital is expected to have a profound impact on the ongoing fight against breast cancer, helping to save lives and encourage preventive measures for women’s health.

The Pakistan vs South Africa T20I will not only be a thrilling cricket match but also a significant step in spreading awareness about breast cancer, making this October’s #PINKtober initiative a moment to remember.
