KARACHI: Pakistan’s over 50s veteran cricket squad was announced Monday in order to participate in the over 50s World Cup. The over 50s World Cup will be held in Cape Town, South Africa from March 5 to 20 in the upcoming year.
Chairman of the Pakistan Veterans Cricket Association Fawad Ijaz Khan made the announcement.
Cricket World Cup and Over 50s Cricketer
Fourteen Countries will take part in the event and these nations are divided into two main groups. As per details, Group A and B include the following countries.

Wales
India
Namibia
USA
Group B
Australia
New Zealand
West Indies
Zimbabwe
Canada
Sri Lanka
UAE
Each cricket team will play six group matches while the top two countries in each group will qualify for the semifinals in the tournament.
The Group matches will start on March 6. The final will be played at the iconic Test venue, The Wanderers Stadium on March 19, 2023.

Pakistan had lost in the final to Australia in the inaugural Over 50s World Cup held in Sydney in 2018 and the Second Over 50s World Cup held in Cape Town in 2020 was canceled due to Covid-19 in the world.
Pakistani squad consists of 7 Batsmen, 7 Bowlers, 3 All-rounders, and a Wicket keeper. Former Test Player Zahoor Elahi will be the Captain, Jaffer Qureshi Vice Captain and Dr. Asjad Ali will be the Manager of the Team.
