Pakistan Cricket Team Arrives in Sri Lanka for Test Series

COLOMBO: The Pakistan cricket team arrived in Colombo, Sri Lanka, on Sunday for a two-match Test series against the host country, following the completion of their training camp on Friday.

After a day of rest, the Pakistan cricket team will travel to Hambantota tomorrow, where they are scheduled to play a two-day warm-up match on July 11 and 12.

The first Test of the two-match series will start on July 16 at the Galle International Cricket Stadium, while the second Test match of the series will be played at the Singhalese Sports Club in Colombo from July 24 to 28.

During their last tour of Sri Lanka in July 2022, Pakistan and Sri Lanka played a two-match Test series, which ended in a 1-1 draw. Pakistan achieved a historic victory in the first Test, successfully chasing down a target of 342 runs to win by four wickets. However, Sri Lanka bounced back in the second Test match, winning by 246 runs to level the series.

Pakistan Squad for Sri Lanka Test Series

The Pakistan squad for the current tour includes Babar Azam as captain, with Mohammad Rizwan as vice-captain and wicketkeeper. Other players in the squad are Aamir Jamal, Abdullah Shafique, Abrar Ahmed, Hasan Ali, Imam-ul-Haq, Mohammad Huraira, Mohammad Nawaz, Naseem Shah, Noman Ali, Salman Ali Agha, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Saud Shakeel, Shaheen Afridi, and Shan Masood.

The supporting staff included Grant Bradburn as head coach, Rehan-ul-Haq as team manager, Andrew Puttick as batting coach, Aftab Khan as fielding coach, Morne Morkel as bowling coach, Abdul Rehman as assistant coach, Cliffe Deacon as physiotherapist, Ahsan Iftikhar Nagi as media and digital content manager, Drikus Saaiman as strength and conditioning coach, Talha Ejaz as analyst, Lt Col Usman Anwari (Retd) as security manager, and Malang Ali as massage therapist.
