Pakistan Condemns Israeli Bombardment at Jordanian Field Hospital in Gaza

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Thursday strongly condemned the bombardment by Israeli Occupation Forces in the surroundings of a Jordanian field hospital in Gaza-strip, injuring seven Jordanian staff members.

A foreign ministry statement said the recent inhumane attack is the latest in a series of attacks on hospitals and medical facilities in besieged Gaza and constitutes a war crime and a flagrant violation of international law.

It said Pakistan joins the call for a thorough investigation into this barbaric incident and other attacks on hospitals in Gaza and hold the occupation forces accountable for the war crimes perpetrated in the occupied Palestinian territories.

The statement further said the international community must urgently step in to bring an end to the brutalities s being committed in Gaza and for an immediate ceasefire to protect civilian lives and infrastructure.

Earlier today Spokesperson of Pakistan Foreign Office, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch at her weekly news briefing mentioned that there is ongoing Israeli aggression in Gaza, condemning attacks on hospitals in Gaza by Israel.

She said Pakistan condemns Israel for violating international laws and humanitarian principles by targeting hospitals. She noted that Israeli military has targeted schools, hospitals, and populations in Gaza.

According to the health ministry in Gaza, Israel’s intensified aerial bombardment and ground offensive have so far martyred 11,500 people, mostly civilians, including thousands of children.

UNSC calls for extended humanitarian pauses in Gaza

Meanwhile the UNSC on Wednesday called for extended humanitarian pauses in Gaza, the first time the global body has broken its silence since the start of the war between Hamas and Israel on October 7.

The resolution, put by Malta and approved with 12 votes in favor stressed for an immediate and extended humanitarian pauses and corridors across the Gaza Strip for an enough number of days to allow aid and help to reach civilian population in the besieged enclave.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Wednesday renewed the call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, condemning the ongoing Israeli military actions amidst a dire humanitarian crisis in the besieged enclave.

Thousands of buildings, including hospitals, mosques and churches, have also been destroyed in the Israeli strikes.
