ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Foreign Office has strongly denounced the Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s recent provocative remarks and threats of crossing the Line of Control (LoC).

Minister Singh, while in Drass, Ladakh, boasted about its readiness to cross the Line of Control (LoC), prompting a stern reminder from Pakistan that it can defend against any aggression.

In an official statement, Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch urged India to exercise utmost caution, expressing concern that such rhetoric poses a significant threat to regional peace and stability. Moreover, she pointed out that such actions contribute to the destabilization of the strategic environment in South Asia.

Highlighting a pattern of irresponsible behaviour, Baloch emphasized that this is not the first time Indian political leaders and senior military officers have made such inappropriate remarks concerning Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

The spokesperson firmly stated that the use of jingoistic statements must cease, reminding the Indian leadership of Pakistan’s full capacity to protect itself against any form of aggression.

Additionally, Baloch addressed the recurring practice of dragging Pakistan into India’s populist public discourse, designed to fuel hyper-nationalism and gain electoral advantages, calling for an end to such tactics.
