ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and China have reaffirmed their strong commitment to working together for regional peace and stability.
This shared resolve was highlighted during a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Hong Kong on Friday.
Ishaq Dar congratulated Wang Yi on the successful signing of the Convention establishing the International Organisation for Mediation.

The two leaders reaffirmed the ironclad Pakistan-China friendship and ‘All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership’.
They reviewed ongoing bilateral engagements and agreed to deepen cooperation on all issues of mutual interest including CPEC-Two.
Both leaders also reiterated their firm resolve to make joint strides for regional peace and stability.
Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar met with Chief Executive John Lee of the Hong Kong, Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China.
A statement issued by Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Office of the Spokesperson) on Friday stated the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister congratulated the Chief Executive on the successful establishment of International Organization for Mediation (IOMed) while highlighting Hong Kong’s unique role as a global hub linking East and West and its growing significance in international mediation.
Long-standing friendship
Recalling long-standing friendship between Pakistan and Hong Kong, Ishaq Dar commended the Chief Executive and SAR Government for its impressive economic and social development strides under the “One Country, Two Systems” framework.
Dar is in Hong Kong to attend the official ceremony for signing the Convention on establishment of IOMed.
