Pakistan, China to Forge Strong Software Partnership

BEIJING: The 21st China International Software Corporation Conference was successfully organized in Chengdu, China. The Cooperation Negotiation on Standardization and Internationalization, a sub-forum of the event, underlined the importance of the growing software partnership between the two countries.

During the conference, the Chairman of the Pakistan Software Association, Muhammad Zohaib Khan, provided an insightful overview of Pakistan’s software industry, spotlighting the country’s considerable advancements in cybersecurity, gaming, AI, and animation. He also stressed the attractive incentives available through the Special Technology Zone Authority (STZA).

Khan said that Pakistani companies possess expertise in niche sectors such as Healthcare, E-commerce, Fintech, and other solutions that are in high demand internationally. Collaboration between Pakistan and China can extend beyond services to include joint ventures and co-development initiatives.

He underlined the impact of Pakistani IT companies in African markets, especially in sectors like FinTech and Gulf Tech.

Opportunities for Pakistani, Chinese Companies

He said that Chinese firms seeking access to these markets can explore collaboration opportunities with their Pakistani counterparts. In turn, Pakistani companies can seek partnerships with Chinese firms to gain access to advanced technologies and development and research resources.

During the event, the Pakistan Software Association released introductions and contact information of thirty-eight Pakistani software companies, along with the products and services they can offer and their specific requirements.

An array of collaboration partner needs from Pakistani companies was also unveiled, covering areas such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and blockchain technology cooperation.

As an organizer of the event, Chengdu Standardization Research Institute established the China-Pakistan Cooperation Center on Technical Standardization in collaboration with Punjab University Pakistan in 2020.
