Pakistan, China Enjoy Strong Investment and Heritage Bonds: Jamal Shah

ISLAMABAD: Interim Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture Jamal Shah has said that Pakistan and China were closely connected through friendly investment and heritage bonds coupled with people-to-people contacts from both sides for a long and resilient friendship.

The Minister said this while talking to a delegation from China Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps (XPCC) here at Heritage Division on Tuesday. Deputy Party Secretary, Deputy Political Commissioner Mr Liu Jianming led the delegation.

During the meeting, the dignitaries highlighted the importance of further enhancing cultural connections between Pakistan and China. The Minister also appreciated the visionary leadership of President Xi Jinping and his services for the region.

Meanwhile, Jamal Shah stressed future Chinese investment in Pakistan’s historical heritage sites, including Takht-e-Bahi.

Pak-China Long-lasting Friendship

Jalal Shah further said that the Friendship between Pakistan and China has a history, adding that it is higher than mountains, deeper than the ocean, sweeter than honey, and stronger than steel, and today, we are going to see such Friendship through art and cultural heritage.

The Minister apprised the delegation that the cultural ministry planned to organize a second China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) cultural caravan aimed at promoting economic ties and strengthening cultural bonds between China, Pakistan, and the Central Asian States.

The cultural caravan would be composed of diverse groups of Pakistani, Chinese, and Central Asian artists, musicians, photographers, anthropologists, writers, and filmmakers. 

Meanwhile, XPCC Deputy Party Secretary, Deputy Political Commissioner Liu Jianming said that both China and Pakistan have a long history of cultural exchanges, termed agriculture, tourism, and culture as very important fields for further strengthening and enhancing people-to-people contacts between the two sides.
