ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and China have agreed to strengthen cultural diplomacy, enhance tourism collaboration, and restore shared heritage sites between the two countries.

This resolve was expressed during a meeting between Pakistan’s Minister for Culture, Tourism & Heritage, Huzaifa Rehman, and the Chinese Minister of Culture & Tourism, Gao Zheng, in Beijing on Sunday, according to a press release issued by the Ministry of Culture.

During the meeting, the minister praised President Xi Jinping and the Chinese government for their unwavering support and close cooperation with Pakistan, especially on the culture and tourism fronts.

“The bond between Pakistan and China is deeper than the ocean, higher than mountains, and sweeter than honey,” he said.

The two sides agreed to initiate joint projects focused on the restoration, preservation, and digital documentation of historical landmarks in both countries.

The meeting also concluded with plans to strengthen partnerships in museum development, organise cultural exchange delegations, and implement training programmes in museology.

Minister Gao Zheng extended a formal invitation to Minister Rehman to attend the upcoming International Museum Conference scheduled in China this September. Minister Rehman accepted the invitation, signaling continued momentum for joint cultural initiatives.
