ISLAMABAD: The Olympic Day colorful event was held here at Rawal Lake Islamabad to celebrate International Olympic Day 2023 on Friday.
The event was organized under the umbrella of the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA). Olympian Sadaf Siddiqui, Olympian Ahmad Ali Khan, Islamabad Olympic Association (IOA) interim committee secretary and Chairman Pakistan Rowing Federation Rizwan ul Haq, Army Sports Directorates Major Irfan Younis, national athletes, officials, children and personalities from different walks of life also attended the event.
Olympic Day is celebrated worldwide on June 23 each year to commemorate the birth of the Modern Olympics Games that were held in Paris back in June 1894.
Thousands of people of all ages participated in sporting and cultural activities, such as fun runs, music, tree plantation, exhibitions, beach cleaning and educational seminars. Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) also regularly celebrates Olympic Day.
