ISLAMABAD: Cambridge International on Wednesday announced O-Level and Cambridge IGCSE results of over 60,000 students across Pakistan.
CIE said, “Students with these qualifications are equipped with the knowledge and skills they require for the next steps on their educational journey.”
With 1.7 million entries across 5,600 schools in 147 countries for all qualifications, this year’s exam series was the largest for Cambridge International—an 11% rise from June 2022. According to the statement, the pandemic and, more recently, postponed exams had a negative impact on children’s capacity to learn in Pakistan. Despite the obstacles, they could obtain the credentials they needed to continue their education. Today’s successes reflect their dedication, hard effort, and enthusiastic support of parents and teachers.
More than 210,000 entries were submitted for the Cambridge IGCSE and O-Level exams in Pakistan for the June 2023 series, an increase of 4% from June 2022. English language, Pakistan Studies, and Islamiyat were the most popular courses.
“I congratulate Cambridge students for their diligent work in achieving these results,” remarked Rod Smith, Group Managing Director, International Education at Cambridge, regarding the June 2023 exam series. They have exhibited outstanding resiliency in recent years and continued advancing their studies. These credentials assure our students that they have acquired the abilities they will require in the future, enabling them to seize the possibilities.
Congratulations to all of the shining stars of Cambridge International in Pakistan who are enjoying their well-deserved results today, said Uzma Yousuf, the organization’s country director for Pakistan. Undoubtedly, these exceptional youngsters and their families have faced adversity with steadfast resolve. The determination of many of these students, who have overcome their difficulties and continued their academic endeavors, makes me feel thrilled. Additionally, I would like to congratulate the passionate teachers who have demonstrated steadfast dedication to supporting children as they go on in their academic endeavors.
According to the official announcement, Cambridge International has been gradually bringing the standard of Cambridge qualifications back to the level before the 2019 pandemic. The grade boundaries for this year have been adjusted to account for the pandemic’s effects, and the standard has been raised to match that of 2019. This implies that a student who would have earned an A before the epidemic will have the same chances of doing so in 2023. According to the statement, Cambridge offers its programs and credentials to students in more than 750 schools throughout Pakistan.
