LAHORE: Hafiz Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi, Special Representative to the Prime Minister on Religious Harmony and the Pakistani Diaspora in Middle East and Islamic Countries, on Sunday, said that the biggest issue in the world at the moment is Palestine.

Chairman Pakistan Ulema Council Allama (CPUC) Ashrafi held a press conference here at Lahore Press Club. Chairman Minority Alliance Dr. Paul Bhatti and other minority leaders were also present on the occasion.

Ashrafi Calls for Independent Palestinian State

Ashrafi said that peace should be established only by ending the war in the Gaza Strip, and establishing an independent Palestinian state with Al-Quds as its capital is the only solution to the problem.

To a query on the Jaranwala incident, he said that even today, we apologize for what happened. The people of Pakistan, the army, and the religious leaders together thwarted the Indian plan of rioting in Pakistan.

On his part, Chairman All Pakistan Minorities Alliance Dr. Paul Bhatti said that Kashmir and Palestine are the biggest problems of the world; if these two issues are resolved, peace will be established around the world.
