Pakistan Calls for Implementation of Two-state Solution to Address Palestine Conflict

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Tuesday urged the international community to work on the implement the two-state solution which has been endorsed by the UN Security Council resolution to address the Palestine conflict. “We must work to implement the two-state solution which has been endorsed by the Security Council resolution,” Dar said.

While addressing the High-Level Conference on Urgent Humanitarian Response for Gaza in Jordan today, Ishaq Dar said, “We strongly oppose any demographic or territorial change in Gaza.”

Pakistan’s Deputy PM proposed to prepare a comprehensive plan for the reconstruction of Gaza and expressed its readiness to be partner in the reconstruction of the educational institutions in Gaza.

The Deputy PM said that Pakistan strongly opposes any demographic or territorial change in Gaza.

Ishaq Dar said it is time to secure the immediate admission of the State of Palestine as a full member of the United Nations, which will ensure the irreversibility of the two-state solution, the only option for durable peace and security in the Palestinian territory.

The Deputy Prime Minister condemned the ongoing brutal military campaign of Israel in Gaza and called on the international community to hold Israel accountable for its grave crimes.

Deputy Prime Minister Dar expressed deep concern at the prevailing humanitarian situation. He called for an unconditional ceasefire, lifting of Gaza’s blockade, provision of urgent humanitarian assistance, and protection of Palestinian civilians.

The Deputy Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to the right of self-determination of the people of Palestine.
