ISLAMABAD: Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, the Foreign Office spokesperson, Saturday called the world community to hold India accountable for war crimes and its ‘grave’ breaches of international humanitarian law in the Indian Illegally-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

In an interview with a private news channel, she expressed concerns over the Indian government’s efforts to alter the demographics of occupied Kashmir, where Modi was repeatedly breaking all international laws, which was no longer acceptable.

She called for releasing all Kashmiri political prisoners illegally jailed and Hurriyat leaders, including Yasin Malik, who was being held in several jails in India and IIOJK.

Mumtaz Zahra argued that it was the responsibility of the international community to unite and demand India’s compliance with its obligations under the recognized legal framework upheld by the comity of civilized countries and following numerous UNSC resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir.

“India must be urged to respect its international obligations, especially those related to the relevant UN Security Council resolutions,” she continued.

She claimed that the entire population of occupied Jammu and Kashmir has been under siege by the Indians and that occupation troops are ruthlessly committing war crimes and crimes against humanity, such as the ethnic cleansing of the Kashmiri people.

She pleaded with the world to end the silence in the European Parliament, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the United Nations, and other national and international venues. —APP
