Pakistan Calls for Global Cooperation to Combat Climate Change, Rising Population

WASHINGTON: Pakistan Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, has stressed the need for collaborative efforts among human development institutions to combat climate change and the challenges posed by rising population levels.

Speaking at the G24 Ministers and Governors Meeting in Washington, he highlighted the necessity for enhanced cooperation to address the decline in both mental and physical development of children, especially in developing countries like Pakistan.

In light of Pakistan’s election as the second Vice President of the G24 Bureau for the fiscal year 2024-25, Senator Aurangzeb emphasized the urgency of tackling critical issues, including the increasing debt burden on developing nations.

The Finance Minister also called for measures to mitigate risks associated with climate change and for greater representation of developing countries in global financial institutions.
