KARACHI: The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) is set to introduce 28 state-of-the-art baggage scanning machines at major airports in Pakistan, according to sources on Tuesday.

Scheduled for delivery in February 2024, the modern machines will be allocated to the Air Security Force (ASF), enhancing security protocols across airports. The sources revealed that these advanced systems will gradually replace older baggage scanning machines.

This initiative follows the installation of a cutting-edge baggage scanning machine at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi on August 31, 2023. The concerted efforts by CAA aim to keep pace with evolving security needs and ensure the safety of passengers and airport facilities.

The implementation of advanced scanning technology underscores the commitment of aviation authorities to stay ahead in the ongoing efforts to enhance airport security nationwide.
