RAWALPINDI: Chief of Staff of the Brazilian Navy, Admiral Andre Luiz Silva Lima De Santana Mendes, met with General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, at Joint Staff Headquarters in Rawalpindi, a military statement said on Monday.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that matters of bilateral interests such as maritime security, the evolving security landscape, and efforts to enhance security and defence cooperation between the two nations were discussed during the meeting.
Admiral Mendes praised the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and recognized Pakistan’s contributions and sacrifices in the global fight against terrorism.
Earlier, upon arrival at Joint Staff Headquarters, a smartly presented tri-services contingent performed a ‘Guard of Honour’ ceremony for the visiting dignitary.
