Wazir enters this fight riding a formidable wave of momentum. On August 31, 2025, he captured the prestigious WBC OPBF Silver Welterweight title in a dramatic 10-round bout against experienced Indonesian fighter Ferdinandus at Bangkok’s World Siam Stadium.
Securing the victory in the closing moments of the final round, the win not only earned him the belt but also propelled his world rankings and extended his unblemished professional record to 17-0.
That title fight was historic for Pakistani boxing, becoming the first bout featuring a Pakistani fighter to be broadcast live in 168 countries through one of the sport’s largest global networks.
A history of dominance and national pride
The Gilgit-Baltistan-born champion has consistently delivered commanding performances. Prior to his title win, he demonstrated his explosive power by defeating India’s S. Eswaran via a first-round technical knockout (TKO) in April 2025, ending the highly anticipated contest in just one minute and 41 seconds for his 16th professional victory.
Nicknamed the “Asian Boy,” Wazir has already assembled an impressive collection of accolades, including the World Youth Title, Asian Title, and Middle East Title. Each triumph has earned him widespread recognition and has been a source of immense national pride, firmly establishing him as a leading figure putting Pakistani boxing on the international map. His upcoming fight against Mahesh represents the next chapter in his quest for global dominance.
