RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: Pakistan’s bowlers delivered a disciplined, all-round performance to restrict Sri Lanka to 211 runs in the third ODI of the series at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Sunday.
Opting to field first in the day-night fixture, Pakistan struck at regular intervals, preventing Sri Lanka from building the partnerships needed for a competitive total.
Despite several promising starts, the visitors struggled to convert begins into big scores, collapsing in the final 10 overs.
Sri Lanka’s top order showed intent early on, with Pathum Nissanka (24) and Kamil Mishara (29) putting on a brisk stand.

Captain Kusal Mendis contributed 34 off 54 before falling to Mohammad Wasim, while Sadeera Samarawickrama played the most composed innings of the day—top-scoring with 48 off 65 balls.
However, Pakistani bowlers kept the pressure on, spearheaded by Mohammad Wasim, who claimed 3 for 47, dismantling Sri Lanka’s middle and lower order.
Left-arm spinner Faisal Akram impressed with 2 for 42, including the key wickets of Samarawickrama and Kamindu Mendis.
Haris Rauf produced a sharp spell of 2 for 38, while Shaheen Shah Afridi and Faheem Ashraf chipped in with a wicket apiece.
Sri Lanka’s innings derailed after 35 overs, sliding from 166 for 5 to 211 all out, with only Pavan Rathnayake (32) showing resistance in the latter half.
Pramod Madushan and Maheesh Theekshana managed brief contributions, but the visitors ultimately fell short of playing out their full 50 overs.
Pakistan now face a chase of 212 to clinch the match and clean sweep the series, with the Rawalpindi pitch expected to offer swing early before settling under lights.
