DUBAI: Pakistani bowlers have improved their positions in the latest ICC Men’s T20I Player Rankings, while most of the team’s batters have slipped down the list.

According to the ICC update, Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf climbed two places to 24th with 575 points, followed by Abbas Afridi, who rose to 26th with 572 points.

Spinner Sufiyan Muqeem and left-arm fast bowler Shaheen Afridi also advanced, moving to 33rd and 34th with 542 and 541 points respectively.

Among other bowlers, Mohammad Nawaz dropped to 58th, Abrar Ahmed to 61st, and Shadab Khan to 73rd.

New Zealand’s Jacob Duffy retained the top position in T20I bowling, ahead of England’s Adil Rashid in second and West Indies’ Akeal Hosein in third.

In batting, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan — who have not played T20Is since 2024 — fell one place each to 18th and 20th.

Hassan Nawaz slipped to 32nd, Saim Ayub to 38th, Sahibzada Farhan to 64th, captain Salman Ali Agha to 77th, Fakhar Zaman to 79th, and Mohammad Haris to 88th.

India’s Abhishek Sharma stayed top of the T20I batting rankings, followed by compatriot Tilak Varma and England’s Phil Salt.

In the ODI format, Pakistan’s top-order batter Babar Azam has dropped from second to third place, following a poor run in the recent three-match series against the West Indies.

He scored just 56 runs at an average of 18.66, bringing his total rating down to 751 points. India’s Rohit Sharma, with 756 points, overtook Babar despite not playing an ODI since March.

Babar’s series included a promising 47 in the first match, a three-ball duck in the second, and a nine-run knock in the third.

Pakistan ODI captain Mohammad Rizwan slipped from 21st to 22nd, while Fakhar Zaman — absent due to injury — fell four places to 27th.

Imam-ul-Haq and Salman Ali Agha dropped to 37th and 41st, and Saim Ayub fell nine places to 46th. Abdullah Shafique was one of the few gainers, rising seven spots to 90th.

In the ODI bowlers’ rankings, Shaheen Afridi fell one place to 13th after taking four wickets in three matches.

Haris Rauf dropped to 27th, and Naseem Shah to 43rd. Abrar Ahmed climbed to 54th, while Mohammad Nawaz stayed 64th and Mohammad Wasim Jr fell to 71st.

Sri Lanka’s Maheesh Theekshana remains the number one ODI bowler, ahead of India’s Kuldeep Yadav and South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj.
