LAHORE: Pakistan were bowled out for 110 in 25.3 overs against Sri Lanka in the fifth ODI of the Pakistan Tri-Nation Series at Gaddafi Stadium on Tuesday, with left-arm fast bowler Dilshan Madushanka claiming five wickets.

Sri Lanka, who elected to field after winning the toss, dominated Pakistan’s innings with regular breakthroughs, preventing the hosts from building a substantial total.

Madushanka finished with figures of five for 34 from 8.3 overs, leading the bowling attack. Sahan Arachchige claimed two wickets for 24 runs, while Asitha Fernando, Eshan Malinga and Dunith Wellalage took one wicket each.

Babar Azam was Pakistan’s top scorer with 29 off 33 balls, including five fours, but could not convert his start into a bigger innings.

Hasan Nawaz contributed 17, while Shaheen Shah Afridi added 15 from 13 deliveries, including two sixes. Arafat Minhas scored 10, but the remaining batters struggled to provide meaningful resistance.

Pakistan lost their first wicket at 11 when Fakhar Zaman was dismissed for five. Maaz Sadaqat followed at 23, before Saad Baig’s departure for five left the hosts at 46 for three.

Babar’s dismissal at 61 for five further weakened Pakistan’s position. Wickets continued to fall, with Salman Ali Agha, Hasan Nawaz, Shadab Khan and Haris Rauf also departing as Sri Lanka maintained pressure.

Pakistan’s innings ended at 110 for 10 in 25.3 overs, including seven extras.

Sri Lanka now need 111 runs to win the match.

The fifth fixture is part of the Pakistan Tri-Nation Series, featuring Pakistan, Sri Lanka and England. Unbeaten Pakistan had already secured qualification for the final scheduled for October 31, while Sri Lanka are seeking a strong result to strengthen their position in the tournament.
