MULTAN: Pakistan has made significant changes for the second Test against England, set to begin on Tuesday in Multan. With the aim of leveling the series after a heavy defeat in the first Test, Pakistan has introduced three spinners to exploit the re-used pitch. Left-arm spinner Noman Ali, leg-spinner Zahid Mahmood, and off-spinner Sajid Khan have all been included in the lineup.
Among the key changes is the debut of 29-year-old batsman Kamran Ghulam, who has been in prolific form in domestic cricket, setting a national record of 1,249 runs in the 2020-21 season.
Notably, Pakistan will be without star batsman Babar Azam, pacers Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah, and spinner Abrar Ahmed due to fitness concerns.
England, having secured a resounding win by an innings and 47 runs in the first Test, will look to maintain their dominance after a mammoth 823-7 declared in the first match.
Pakistan’s Squad: Shan Masood (captain), Saim Ayub, Abdullah Shafique, Kamran Ghulam, Saud Shakeel, Mohammad Rizwan, Salman Agha, Aamer Jamal, Noman Ali, Sajid Khan, Zahid Mahmood.
