Pakistan, Belarus Review Bilateral Relations, Pledge Enhanced Cooperation

ISLAMABAD: The Sixth Round of Bilateral Political Consultations between Pakistan and Belarus took place today in Islamabad. Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan, Additional Foreign Secretary (Europe), led the Pakistani delegation, while Sergei Lukashevich, First Deputy Foreign Minister, headed the Belarusian delegation, stated foreign affairs ministry in a statement.

During the consultations, both sides comprehensively reviewed their bilateral relations, encompassing political ties, high-level engagements, trade and investment, military cooperation, security collaboration, education, and people-to-people exchanges.

They expressed satisfaction with the positive trajectory of Pakistan-Belarus relations and committed to further enhancing cooperation across various mutual interests.

Furthermore, both delegations agreed to maintain collaborative efforts at multilateral platforms, including the United Nations and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

Ambassador Sergei Lukashevich also held discussions with Muhammad Syrus Sajjad Qazi, Foreign Secretary of Pakistan, during which they explored bilateral cooperation and discussed significant regional and global developments. The Foreign Secretary reiterated Pakistan’s dedication to expanding and diversifying mutually advantageous collaboration.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Belarus, highlighting the longstanding partnership between the two countries.
