Pakistan Beat Scotland by 6 Wickets to Record First Win in U19 World Cup

HARARE, Zimbabwe: Pakistan secured their first victory in the ICC Men’s U19 World Cup 2026 on Monday, defeating Scotland by six wickets at the Takashinga Sports Club in Highfield.

Chasing a target of 188, Pakistan reached 188-4 in the 44th over, with opener Sameer Minhas and Ali Hassan Baloch laying a steady foundation.

Minhas scored 28 off 30 balls, including three fours, while Ali Hassan contributed 15 before being bowled by Ollie Jones.

A key partnership between Usman Khan and Ahmed Hussain added 111 runs for the third wicket, stabilising the innings.

Khan top-scored with 75 off 85 balls, hitting five boundaries and two sixes, before being dismissed by Manu Saraswat. Hussain added 47 runs.

Skipper Farhan Yousaf hit the winning runs, finishing unbeaten on 18 off 11 deliveries.

Earlier, Pakistan’s bowlers had restricted Scotland to 187 in 48.1 overs.

Ali Raza led the attack with four wickets for 37 runs, while Momin Qamar claimed three scalps. Mohammad Sayyam and Abdul Subhan picked up one wicket each.

Scotland’s innings was disrupted from the start as Raza dismissed both openers in the first over.

Captain Thomas Knight top-scored with 37, while Finlay Jones and Manu Saraswat added resistance lower down the order.

Despite a fighting seventh-wicket partnership of 50 runs, Scotland could not post a higher total.

The win boosts Pakistan’s confidence in the tournament as they look to advance from the group stage.
