DUBAI: Following the conclusion of an electrifying ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, which saw India secure a record third title, the International Cricket Council has officially confirmed the final distribution of the tournament’s prize money, with Pakistan taking home a healthy sum of $522,692 for their campaign.
A total of US$11.25 million in players’ prize money has been distributed among the 20 participating nations, in line with the record-breaking increase to ICC prize money announced in 2024.
The distribution reflects base payments, win bonuses, and progression rewards throughout the tournament.

Champions India lead prize money charts
India emerged as the biggest financial beneficiary of the tournament, with the reigning champions earning a staggering $2,639,423 after defeating New Zealand by 96 runs in the final.
This comprehensive package includes their base participation fee, win bonuses from their unbeaten run, and the substantial champions’ bonus.
New Zealand, featuring in just their second men’s T20 World Cup final, secured the second-largest share of the prize pool, taking home $1,422,692 for their remarkable journey to the summit clash.
Semi-finalists cross million-dollar mark
South Africa were the only other side to breach the million-dollar threshold, earning $1,005,577 for their impressive campaign.
The Proteas remained unbeaten throughout the tournament until their semi-final clash at Eden Gardens, where New Zealand pulled off a sensational chase powered by Finn Allen’s blazing century.
England, the fourth semi-finalist who came agonisingly close to ending India’s title defence in the last four stage, earned $974,423 for their efforts.
Pakistan’s prize money breakdown
Pakistan secured $522,692 for their performance in the tournament.
The total reflects the base amount of $225,000 received by all participating teams, along with bonuses based on their final placement and wins during the group stage.
The Green Shirts’ campaign, while falling short of the knockout stages, still earned them a respectable financial reward from the ICC’s enhanced prize money pool.
West Indies, who also featured in the tournament, earned $538,269, slightly edging Pakistan in the prize money standings.
Zimbabwe shine bright, others follow
Zimbabwe’s stellar performance, during which they stunned cricketing giants Australia in the group stage, saw them take home a healthy purse of $491,538.
Tournament co-hosts Sri Lanka, who also qualified for the Super 8 stage, earned $475,962.
The United States, who had reached the Super 8 stage in the previous edition and impressed in the 2026 tournament with two group-stage wins, ended with $309,808.
This was also the amount secured by Australia and Afghanistan, reflecting identical tournament trajectories.
European newcomers make mark
Scotland ($278,654) and Ireland ($271,731), who each secured one win during the tournament, followed in the prize money standings.
The tournament witnessed a thrilling debut by Italy, who defeated Nepal to register their maiden World Cup win.
The European side is slated to take home $256,154 for their historic participation. The same amount was received by the Netherlands, UAE, and Nepal.
Base payment recipients
At the lower end of the prize money spectrum, Canada, Namibia, and Oman each took the base payment of US$225,000, having been unable to secure victories during their tournament campaigns.
The substantial prize money distribution underscores the ICC’s commitment to investing in the growth of the game across all 20 participating nations, ensuring that even associate members receive meaningful financial support to develop cricket in their regions.
