ISLAMABAD: Australian High Commissioner to Pakistan Neil Hawkins visited the Ministry of Defence and met with Minister for Defence Lieutenant General (R) Anwar Ali Hyder on Monday.
During the meeting, Hawkins expressed admiration for Pakistan’s dedicated efforts in upholding regional peace and security, particularly in the context of the Afghanistan peace process.
The Defence Minister emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to supporting peace initiatives. Both dignitaries engaged in discussions on matters related to peace and security, both at the regional and global levels, as highlighted in a news release.
Australian Envoy Acknowledges Pakistan’s Role
The meeting also provided an opportunity to explore avenues for bilateral cooperation, specifically in the fields of counter-terrorism and economics.
Recognizing the substantial potential for strengthening and further solidifying bilateral defense ties, both sides affirmed their commitment to taking specific, practical steps in this direction.
