ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s military spokesperson, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, on Friday declared that any act of foreign aggression would be met with a “strong and severe response,” reaffirming the armed forces’ readiness to defend the country’s sovereignty “at all costs.”
Speaking to teachers and students from various educational institutions in Abbottabad, the Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) underlined the Pakistan Army’s unwavering resolve in safeguarding national security and territorial integrity.
He said Pakistan had taken effective measures against terrorism and the menace of Fitnah al-Khawarij, a term used to describe extremist elements destabilising the country. “The Pakistan Army remains steadfast in its mission to ensure peace and stability, both along the borders and within,” he added.
Tribute to martyrs and solidarity with soldiers
During the interactive session, students and faculty members paid heartfelt tributes to the martyrs and ghazis (sevivors of the war), acknowledging their sacrifices in defending the homeland.
The Vice Chancellor of Hazara University praised the Pakistan Army’s frontline role in ensuring national security, saying, “We stand shoulder to shoulder with our forces, who have always stood firm in testing times.”
Students also expressed pride in belonging to a country “where national institutions, especially the armed forces, not only protect but also guide and inspire the youth.”
