BATTAGRAM: The Pakistan Army successfully rescued all eight persons, including seven schoolchildren and a teacher, who were stranded mid-air after a cable car’s cable broke in Allai Tehsil of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Battagram district, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
Led by the SSG’s General Officer Commanding (GOC), a ground rescue operation was carried out to rescue all the individuals stuck in the cable car.

According to ISPR, the five people who were rescued during the rescue operation are named as Irfan son of Amreez, Niaz Muhammad son of Umar Zeb, Rizwan son of Abdul Qayyum, Gulfaraz son of Hakeem Dad, and Sher Nawaz son of Shah Nazar
The complex rescue mission was supported by the presence of a local cable crossings expert. The incident occurred when a cable of the cable car snapped, leaving the open cable car suspended at a height of 600 feet. The rescue operation faced challenges due to gusty winds and the potential destabilization posed by helicopter rotor blades.
