RAWALPINDI: A soldier of the Pakistan Army embraced martyrdom during an exchange of gunfire between security forces and terrorists in the North Waziristan district of Northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Saturday, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

According to a statement issued by ISPR, security forces effectively engaged the location of the terrorists. Unfortunately, during the intense exchange of fire, Lance Naik Jamshed Khan, a 28-year-old resident of Upper Dir district, having fought gallantly, embraced martyrdom.

The ISPR statement further read that sanitization of the area is being carried out to trace and eliminate terrorists.
