ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Army is continuing retaliatory actions against the Afghan Taliban and Fitna al-Khawarij as part of Operation Ghazab Lil-Haq, according to security sources.
Sources said the armed forces responded swiftly by targeting an Afghan Taliban post located near the Shawal area of South Waziristan along the Pak-Afghan border.
The post was destroyed using explosives, forcing Afghan Taliban fighters and members of Fitna al-Khawarij to abandon their positions and flee the area.
Fitna al-Khawarij is a term used by the state to refer to the terrorist groups—particularly factions of the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP)—that carry out attacks inside Pakistan.
Security officials added that in another successful strike, the Pakistan Army destroyed an ammunition depot at the Shaheen Base in Afghanistan’s Paktika province. The operation dealt a significant blow to the terrorists’ logistical capabilities.

According to security sources, several hideouts and military installations used by the Afghan Taliban and Fitna al-Khawarij are being targeted along the border region as part of ongoing operations aimed at dismantling terrorist networks and preventing cross-border attacks.
The sources emphasised that the armed forces remain fully prepared to respond to any threats against Pakistan’s security and territorial integrity. They added that operations will continue until all terrorist elements involved in cross-border terrorism are neutralised and the region is secured.
Pakistan targeting terrorist hideouts in Afghanistan
Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar on Monday said Pakistan is conducting operations against terrorist hideouts inside Afghanistan based on precise intelligence.
In a statement carried by international media outlets, Tarar said Pakistan has not targeted any civilian areas in Afghanistan, emphasising that the operations are aimed solely at terrorist infrastructure and support networks operating from Afghan territory.
He dismissed casualty figures presented by the Afghan Taliban government, saying the claims were “imaginary” and not worthy of serious consideration. Tarar also rejected statements by the spokesperson of the Afghan Ministry of Defence, describing assertions of battlefield victories against Pakistan as inaccurate and merely propaganda.
The minister further denied reports circulated by the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan regarding civilian casualties, saying the information provided by the UN mission in Kabul was based entirely on data from the Taliban authorities.
Tarar said that attacks carried out jointly by the Afghan Taliban and the terrorist group Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan demonstrate a clear nexus between the Afghan Taliban administration and several terrorist organisations operating from Afghan soil.
He added that every attack launched by Afghan Taliban forces had been met with a prompt and effective response by Pakistan. According to the minister, Pakistan’s actions are precisely targeted against terrorist groups and their supporters, including facilities and bases being used by Afghan Taliban.
