Pakistan Army Continues Rescue and Relief Operations in Flood-Hit Areas

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Army and Frontier Corps North are taking part in rescue operations in flood-hit areas of Buner, Shangla and Swat in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

Additional troops of Pakistan’s army arrived in the flood-hit areas and took part in rescue and relief operations.

Personnel from the Pakistan Army’s Corps of Engineers, equipped with necessary machinery and materials, have started work to assist the people.

Despite bad weather, Pakistan Army helicopters are taking part in rescue missions to provide timely support to flood-affectees.

As per the directives of Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS), one day’s ration of the country’s army is being provided to the needy people after the recent floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Medical camps

Pakistan Army’s doctors have also established a medical camps in the affected areas, where free medicine is being given to the people.  The Army troops also engaged in the rescue operation in Churak village of Buner.

Rescue operation is underway for people trapped under the rubble of destroyed houses in Adamkhel. It is stated that the operation will continue until all affected people are safely rescued and shifted to safe places.

The army also provided essential items to the affected families, including rations and beds.
