ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir has lauded the Pakistan Air Force for once again shooting down several Indian aircraft, proving its superiority over the enemy.
He expressed these remarks during his visit to the Air Headquarters in Islamabad on Wednesday.
On his arrival, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu warmly welcomed the Army Chief.
The Army Chief paid rich tribute to the Chief of Air Staff and the falconers of Air Force for promptly foiling the nefarious plan of aggression by the Indian Air Force.
He appreciated the Pakistan Air Force for once again shooting down several enemy aircraft and proving the PAF’s mettle.
The Army Chief also commended the outstanding cooperation and coordination among the Pakistan Army, Navy, and Air Force.
The meeting reaffirmed a firm resolve that any attempt to violate Pakistan’s territorial integrity will be met with a decisive response, and those responsible will be held accountable.
Meanwhile Pakistan’s National Security Committee (NSC), which met on Wednesday morning with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in the chair has decided that in consonance with Article-51 of the UN Charter, Pakistan reserves the right to respond, in self-defence, at a time, place, and manner of its choosing to avenge the loss of innocent Pakistani lives and blatant violation of its sovereignty.
Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, on Wednesday briefed the Islamabad-based diplomatic corps on India’s air strikes in Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir during the night of 6 and 7 May 2025.
Addressing a specially convened session at Pakistan’s Foreign Office, Ishaq Dar strongly condemned the Indian aggression, stating it was a blatant violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty and a serious threat to regional peace and stability.
Ishaq Dar said that India’s actions were in direct violation of the United Nations Charter, international law, and the norms governing interstate relations.
The Indian military action comes two weeks after a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, where 26 people were killed.
India swiftly blamed Pakistan for orchestrating the attack. Pakistan condemned the attack and strongly denied India’s “baseless allegations”.
Pakistan also offered an independent, neutral, and transparent international investigation into the Pahalgam incident. However, New Delhi did not respond to Pakistan’s offer and continued with its aggressive posture.
