Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir is on a four-day official visit to China in a bid to enhancing bilateral military relations. IN the visit, the COAS will be meeting Chinese high ups and discussing the increasing the cooperation in various areas.
China, as a friendly nation, has been a constant source of military equipment supplies to the Pakistani Army, since 1962, it has been helping establish ammunition factories, providing technological assistance and modernising existing facilities in several military set ups.
The China-Pakistan military collaboration has grown dramatically over the past ten years, approaching a threshold alliance despite China’s opposition to formal alliances. Pakistan’s most significant defence ally since the conclusion of the Cold War is China. Beijing has taken the lead in providing Pakistan with conventional weaponry, strategic platforms, and more advanced offensive strike capabilities.
