ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Federal Cabinet has approved the establishment of the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund for Palestine and Lebanon to assist those affected by Israeli relentless brutalities in these regions.
The decision was made during a cabinet meeting in Islamabad, chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The Cabinet instructed the State Bank of Pakistan to open an account for this fund, and Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal will oversee the relief efforts for Palestine and Lebanon.
The meeting also covered the implementation of e-office systems in federal ministries and departments, highlighting that Pakistan’s position in the United Nations E-Governance Development Index has improved by 14 ranks due to the government’s e-governance initiatives. The e-office implementation is ongoing across all 40 federal divisions, with completion in several ministries.
The Prime Minister emphasized the need for further enhancements in e-office implementation and requested a progress review in two weeks.
Furthermore, the Cabinet validated an agreement on fishing subsidies in accordance with World Trade Organization decisions and permitted the signing of various agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoUs).
