Pakistan and UAE Agree on Mutual Visa Exemption for Diplomatic and Official Passport Holders

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has said that Pakistan and UAE have agreed on mutual visa exemption for holders of diplomatic and official passports.

He said that the two countries have signed three important MoUs, which will pave the way for enhanced engagement to the mutual benefit of both nations.

He wrote on his X account, “It was pleasure to Co-Chair with Brother HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed the 12th Pak-UAE Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC) meeting, after gap of 12 years, in Abu Dhabi, which concluded very late last night; an important step in further deepening strategic, economic, and development cooperation between our two brotherly countries. We reviewed progress in trade, investment, energy, infrastructure, and IT”.

He maintained that three important MoUs were signed between the two sides. “Three important MoUs were signed: Visa exemption for diplomatic & official passport holders; Cooperation in AI & the digital economy; and joint investment promotion, which will pave the way for enhanced engagement to the mutual benefit of both nations”.

Avenues for sustainable investment

He further said, “After conclusion of JMC at 1am, left UAE by 320am flight and now reached back Islamabad, AlhamdoLilah”.

Earlier, Radio Pakistan reported that Ishaq Dar met with the Director General of the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi, on Tuesday.

They discussed enhancing development cooperation, expanding ADFD’s support for key infrastructure and energy projects in Pakistan, and exploring new avenues for sustainable investment.

Shared growth and prosperity

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening economic ties and promoting shared growth and prosperity.

The deputy prime minister also presented the award of Hilal-e-Quaid-e-Azam to him in acknowledgment of his exceptional contributions to the promotion of Pakistan-UAE cooperation.

The Deputy Prime Minister presented the award on behalf of the President of Pakistan, according to Radio Pakistan.
