Pakistan and Indonesia Establish Business Council to Enhance Economic Engagement

JAKARTA: The establishment of the Pakistan-Indonesia Business Council took place on 13th July at the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industries (KADIN) in Jakarta, with the presence of Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary Dr. Asad Majeed Khan. The signing ceremony signifies an important step towards strengthening economic ties and unleashing the vast potential within the Pakistan-Indonesia partnership.

Foreign Secretary Dr. Asad Majeed Khan, speaking at the event, highlighted the significance of the Pakistan-Indonesia Business Council in deepening economic engagement. He expressed optimism that the Council would play a pivotal role in enhancing business-to-business interactions, fostering joint ventures, creating employment opportunities, and alleviating poverty to build prosperous and resilient societies.

Long-Term Collaboration Between Pakistan and Indonesia

During his keynote address, Mr. Arsjad Rasjid P.M., Chairman of KADIN, emphasized the importance of long-term collaboration between Pakistan and Indonesia. He acknowledged Pakistan as a significant non-traditional trading partner of Indonesia and highlighted the vast potential for mutually beneficial economic ties between the two countries. Mr. Rasjid P.M. also expressed KADIN’s readiness to facilitate interactive sessions, networking opportunities, and explore potential collaborations to forge lasting partnerships.

The establishment of the Pakistan-Indonesia Business Council marks a milestone in strengthening economic cooperation between the two nations. It is expected to pave the way for increased trade, investment, and exchange of expertise, ultimately benefiting both economies.
