Islamabad: An exciting cricketing event is set to unfold as Pakistan and Afghanistan face off in the Wheelchair T20 Cricket Series, beginning tomorrow (Monday) in Karachi.
The Afghan wheelchair cricket team has arrived in Pakistan for their official tour.
Their arrival marks a new milestone in bilateral cricket relations and was met with a warm reception.
Upon landing at Jinnah International Airport, the visiting squad was welcomed by President of the Pakistan Wheelchair Cricket Council, Rukhsana Rajput, along with national wheelchair team captain Muhammad Zeeshan.
The team was then taken to their hotel under tight security measures.
Trophy will be unveiled
In a ceremony scheduled for Sunday, the trophy for the Pak-Afghan Wheelchair T20 Series will be officially unveiled, signaling the start of what promises to be a meaningful and competitive series.
The tournament will consist of four matches, with fixtures set for 29 and 30 September, followed by games on 1 and 2 October.
Speaking to the media, Rukhsana Rajput emphasised the importance of Afghanistan’s visit, calling it a key moment for inclusive cricket. “This series carries great significance ahead of the Asia Cup and highlights the spirit of inclusivity in cricket,” she said.
