Pakistan All-Rounder Shadab Khan Becomes Punjab Police Brand Ambassador

LAHORE: Pakistan’s all-rounder Shadab Khan has become the latest cricketer to join a law enforcement agency, it emerged Wednesday.

In a statement released on X, the Punjab Police said Shadab Khan has become part of the Punjab Police after IG Dr Usman Anwar awarded him the honorary rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP).

The statement said that Shadab Khan has been appointed as Punjab police’s brand ambassador. It added that, following his appointment, Shadab was also informed about the working of different departments.

After the appointment, Shadab Khan said he was excited to become part of the provincial police force. Shadab Khan said that it was an honour for him to be appointed as a brand ambassador by Punjab IG. The all-rounder added that he was very happy to be a part of Punjab Police.

Shadab Khan’s Injury

Shadab has been rested as he suffered an injury during the national T20 series.

In a press conference a day earlier, Chief Selector Wahab Riaz announced that Shadab Khan would not be part of the T20I squad for the New Zealand series.

Wahab said that Shadab Khan is a very important player in Pakistan T20 cricket. Unfortunately, he suffered an ankle injury and requires two further weeks of rehab. After that, he will be available to bowl.

It is to be mentioned here that fast bowlers Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf have also been awarded honorary police titles.
