ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Air Force observed September 7 (Thursday) as Martyrs’ Day at all PAF Bases across the country. The day commenced with a solemn observance, including special prayer and Quran Khawani, dedicated to the martyrs of the 1965 and 1971 Wars, as well as those who made the ultimate sacrifices in the line of duty since the establishment of the homeland.
Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu attended as the Chief Guest during a Martyrs’ Day Ceremony organized at Air Headquarters Islamabad.
Pakistan Air Force’s proud history
Addressing on the occasion, the Air Chief said that PAF has a proud history of valour, sacrifice, and professionalism.
He said that the Martyrs’ Day is an embodiment of flawless professionalism, exceptional bravery, and an unparalleled spirit of sacrifice of the Armed Forces of Pakistan.
Appreciating the glorious deeds of heroism displayed by the Martyrs of Pakistan Air Force, the Air Chief said that the nation owes its heroes an eternal debt of gratitude for what they have done for the country, setting a great example of sacrifice for generations of the future.
He extended heartfelt tribute to nation’s heroes who sacrificed their precious lives for the motherland.

Chief of the Air Staff also expressed solidarity with Kashmiri brethren in their indigenous and just struggle for self-determination.
In his concluding remarks, Air Chief reiterated his resolve to make all-out efforts for the progress and development of the country in the constantly evolving global landscape and pledged that PAF would continue to strive hard for the advancement in space, cyber, niche technologies, electronic warfare, and indigenous defence capability to ensure sovereignty and territorial integrity of Pakistan.
Later, to pay homage to the martyrs, he laid floral wreath at the Martyrs’ Monument and offered Fateha.
