ISLAMABAD: The negative perceptions of some hostile elements that Pakistan cannot withstand the multifaceted challenges, the country has proved itself that they are the most courageous nation with great character of ideology and conviction. Since Cold war era or post 9/11, Pakistanis always stood like a rock against the challenges created by the adversaries.

During 80s, Pakistan found itself in the eye of storm when two super powers fought their battles next to it. With a wise foreign policy options and sensible side-takings it survived and the West rather remained dependent on it.  Again 9/11 brought testing times for the country but this time too Pakistan took a principled stand against terror menace standing with global decision; however, menacing the repercussions had been.

Pakistan is the only Muslim country that is the nuclear power in the world. How it achieved this august status is a story of trials, tribulations amid international sanctions and threats. When it came to Salala Incident (26 Nov 2011), Pakistan despite ire of US and NATO went ahead with its strong protest and months long blockade of NATO supplies to Afghanistan. Pakistanis have seen the misfortunes and hard up and downs swings in their 75 years life. The road to good future has always been rough and humpy but it is the enviously dignified resolve to wade through bad times ultimately paid to them.

World super powers’ threats and bullies could not weaken the resolve of the nation. Conspiracies to create and widen the communal schism in Pakistan have been neutralized with admirable prudence and wisdom. No doubt, Pakistan has seen spells of military rule in its life but those regimes upheld the slogan of ‘Pakistan First’. General Zia did not stop nuclear program initiated by his predecessor despite America’s existential threats. Pakistan’s reaction against Indian belligerence on 27 Feb, 2019 is enough to describe as to how Pakistanis and their Armed forces are alive to enemy threats. India’s MiG-21 didn’t go back to India. Its pilot Wing Commander Abhinandan was sent back to India but with a bleeding nose.

5th Generation Hybrid warfare is now underway against Pakistan but that is also being countered in a very robust manner. Even APS Peshawar like incidents could not bring this nation to knees. Rather incident proved the turning point against terror menace. Capturing red-handed Kulbhushan Yadav, a commander rank serving Indian navy officer shows robustness of the security apparatus of country. Pakistan is a nation that rendered sacrifices of 80,000 precious lives but never surrendered before terror menace. Armed forces of Pakistan have been fighting this menace with a brave nation behind them. A successful nuclear program, against huge international pressure; is manifestation of Pakistanis remarkable resilience that even sent their detractors in shock and awe.

Pakistanis hold the inheritance of ‘Shuhhudda’. They take a pride in the sacrifices of their young and old. And they are determined to defend their country against all the odds no matter how big the threats will be. Whole of Pakistani nation firmly stands with its Armed Forces and other LEAS in their lawful duties to curb terrorism and extremism.
